Tin Plating

Tin is a white deposit that is non-toxic and corrosion resistant making it prevalent in the food processing and shipping industries.  However, it is also used in the electronics industry for connectors, semi-conductors, components, etc. Tin is also very soft and malleable so it can be transformed into a variety of shapes without cracking. The metal is also used for soldering purposes because it protects the base metal from oxidizing thus it allows for an active soldering surface.

Due to its dangerous practice, KPW does not have the capability to reflow tin.  However, we have never encountered the problem of “whisker” growth in our tin finishes. We have solved many customers’ reflowed tin problems using our matte tin process that is continuously monitored in-house. We are more than happy to plate samples with our tin process as a substitute for your reflowed tin requirements.

KPW offers:

Bright:

A shiny decorative finish with organic brighteners
